I saw Singapore in 24
hours mostly from the top deck of the Hop On Hop Off tour bus. Singapore was
just as advertised: clean, neat, and orderly with fabulous modern architecture
and nicely restored and maintained old colonial era buildings. The Gardens by
the Bay park was my only "hop
off" stop and it is an outstanding public venue. There are two dome like
structures housing a rain forest and flower array, a small aquarium with huge
fish, sculpture gardens, cactus garden, a food court, walkways, etc. The most
unique feature are steel framed "trees" covered with plants and
flowers growing from the base and climbing up the trunks to one day cover the
spreading top canopies.
